Panchamahabhutas
and Tridosha

In the Ayurvedic cosmology, Panchamahabhutas - the five elements (air, fire, water, earth, and space) are the fundamental elements that make up everything in the world. Our bodies are also composed of these five elements in varying proportions, representing different bodily organs and psychological characteristics.

Tridosha in Ayurveda

The composition and proportion of Tridosha in each person's body vary, and they influence the body's immunity, resistance, emotional regulation, growth and development cycles, metabolic rate, and more. The organic combination of these three vital energies allows the body to exhibit a myriad of states and carry out all psychological and physiological activities. Every person's body contains the three vital energies, but the proportions differ in each individual. Maintaining the health of body and mind requires keeping the three vital energies in a balanced state. Here, balance does not mean having an equal amount of air energy, water energy, and fire energy. Instead, it refers to returning to the state of the three energies that were present at the time of conception, which is our natural constitution.
